GRADUATE RESEARCH AWARD WINNERS
The Sociologists’ LGBTQ Caucus elected this year to introduce an award honoring members for their contributions to the Caucus (as well as to advancing LGBTQ inclusion within ASA more generally). Two awards were made, each carrying a $150 cash prize meant to help off-set the costs of attending the Annual Meeting. We are delighted to announce that our inaugural award recipients are Mackenzie Teek (Florida State University) and Jamie O'Quinn (University of Texas @ Austin). Congratulations, Mackenzie and Jamie!
We received a dynamic and competitive slate of applications from members, and thank all who applied for their excellent submissions. It was a pleasure reading them, and we look forward to reviewing an even richer collection of submissions next summer. For now, please join us in congratulating Mackenzie and Jamie, both now and at our meeting in August!
The mission of the Sociologists Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Queer (LGBTQ) Caucus is to encourage unprejudiced research on LGBTQ people and their social institutions. We provide a forum for current research, teaching methods and materials, and professional issues, relevant to LGBTQ people.
